4 kilometres by 1.5 kilometres by 69 metres deep

Fresh water swimming paradise. Sun setting over the mountains, water warm enough but with just a chill. Good for the chart and soul, and a feeling I'll have to bring back to the real world.

Austrian equivalent to those car stickers

Dogs permitted on a leash

Gotta love a country that lets you bring your tame animals to a wild animal park...

Haus Eichkatzerl

A funny thing happened at church the other day...

Don't be surprised, going to church in Austria is mandatory, even for a heathen like me. So I was sitting in church on Sunday, and I thought..."those kids look like the priest, I bet he makes his kids come and do all that alter stuff."

Then I remembered I was in a Catholic church and I lol - ed  a bit out loud.

Then after church I was told that the priest wasn't a proper priest as such and he was married with children. Stop the bus. That is tres progressive, but has someone told the Pope? I'm not sure it is legal in the Catholic sense, but would be happily be proven wrong.

Reverse migration

It is the weirdest thing. As soon as I drove out of the autobahn and into the mountains, there was a smell and a light...a familiarity and a sense of belonging. And as I drove, I wondered why they left here in the first place, and how different my life would have been if they stayed.

Life is an autobahn

What is there not to love about a country where you can hop off a 12 hour flight, grab a hire car and manage to navigate yourself out of the city onto the #3 without a map, all before sunset.

Then a two hour drive through forests, and if I looked in the rear mirror the sky turning pink. Past the odd castle, wind farms, grape vines and fields of sunflowers burnt by the summer sun. In a little fiat with a sunroof, doing a top of 165.

Oh Autobahn. I do love thee.

I also love that the first thing I see whilst checking into this weird highway hotel, is an overweight sausage dog waddling to his room with his owners.  Germany you fucking rock.

Smoke machine

Ever want to know what happens when you use a smoke machine in a small suburban house in Dickson?
