And why wouldn't you? This birthday weekend was free of roaming dogs and hospitalised dads. It was full of time discovering new neighbourhoods IN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD. Yum cha, records, champagne and cheese, coffee, bagels and the most hippest launch party in the history of the universe.

Phu Quoc - what I did and how I did it

Pick a hotel way away from the main town. Preferably one with great food reviews. Pay for a villa on the beach. Eat lots of great Vietnamese food and drink lots of cocktails. I chose Peppercorn Beach Resort. Don't expect perfect or polished, but be happy with friendly and charming (and the best margarita).

Don't spend too much time in town - I went once to go to All Good Things, a purveyor of handmade local products.

Do go to Phu Quoc countryside farm tour. Don't expect professional, but it's still a fun way to break up beach time.
