Top 100 - I'm New Here, Smog # 43

The song I had mentioned to you as one of my faves is "I'm new here" by Smog. Smog also has a name, Bill Callahan. This song has also been covered by Gil Scott-Heron.

There are many reasons why I love this song, I have been the newbie in town many times before and I can identify with the challenges and joys of starting over again.  By far my favourite line is 'No matter how far wrong you have gone, you can always turn around'.  This is so true! So many times I have felt that there is no hope - but if you retrace your steps you can start again.  So, I guess I think that this song is as beautiful as it is sorrowful.
