It was the 1980s and I was a country boy who moved to the big smoke of Brisbane. I was traveling along a busy road when Don Henley's Boys of Summer came on the radio, a song with so much momentum, sunlight and fresh air. That moment bookmarked all the hope and optimism I was feeling as my life sped towards so many exciting possibilities. I didn't see any stickers on Cadillacs but whenever I think of the song now I heed the warning and try to resist looking back and focus on the future.
