Crackenback Farm Guesthouse

Sometimes country town lunches can be a terrible failure. Sometimes astoundingly good. Although the service was somewhat…how would you describe it? Pretty full on. Yep. The food at Crackenback Farm Guesthouse was better than alright.

Home made pate with the most crispy, vinegary cornichons around. The trout salad was lovely as well with a lovely mix of fennel and avocado and rocket. But then the bread. Fresh. From. The. Oven. I could have just eaten that (with some extra pate on the side). Instead I ate roast chicken. Which was pretty good too. All very pleasant - a table in the mountain sun and lunch washed down with some sparkling wine and three friends talking shit and having fun.
