Download Mobike app. Add a deposit via your WeChat wallet. Verify your identity (I did this by taking a selfie of me with my ID whilst in the back of a taxi, so pretty easy). Now you are ready to roll!
I used it for the first time when I was hot and sick of walking and spotted one of the bikes. I logged into the app and using the map, selected the bike right in front of me. Rode home in 8 minutes, and parked it across from where I live.
Cost a total of 1RMB. Love it.
