Is it bad that I giggle whenever I think about Mong Kok? Childish you think? Come on! It has the words mong and kok in it...
Anyways. So Mong Kok. What's there to do? Not much as it turns out, but that's okay because this weekend was about catching up with friends. We stayed at the Cordis which is a pretty nice hotel and fabulously located next to a great mall with good ice-cream and even better fashion (henceforth this weekend will be known for my discovery of Monkis).
We ate great dim sum at One Dim Sum (Shop 1 & 2, G/F, No.15 Playing Field Road). Apparently michelin starred, but what dingy dim sum shop in Hong Kong isn't?
Then walk off lunch and look at the flowers on Flower Market Road, followed by coffee at Knock Box: http://knockboxcoffee.hk , shortly followed by ice-cream at Sweet Monster.
The next day some more great coffee, this time from Craft Coffee Roasters: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Craft-Coffee-Roaster and some mooching around playgrounds (I was in the company of my nearly three year old friend, in case you were wondering).
So Mong Kok - a good destination for hanging out, drinking coffee and spending time at playgrounds.
