I wouldn't normally choose to stay in Asakusa, but then I normally wouldn't book a trip to Japanland with just 12 hours before the flight...
The Gate Hotel Asakusa came up well priced ( I got a great deal via tablet.com) and well connected to Narita airport and it was an interesting area to wander around. Good temples, great tempura, even better gyoza and views of a tower not dissimilar to that of G to the Z.
