This song became a statement of the love my husband and I had found with each other. It just seemed to say exactly how we felt about each other, even to the point that I DO '...believe in an interventionist God'. Its such a quietly beautiful and simple melody, soulful lyrics, and with Nick Cave's deep, throaty singing always takes my mind to thoughts of my husband. We were married on a beach, north of Wollongong NSW, at dusk, on Valentine's Day in 1999, and this is the song i walked down the 'aisle' to at the ceremony. It was magical. This song is the epitome of us, our love and emotional connection to one another.
