Southern Highland fling

Go have coffee at the General Store in Exeter and then wander across the road to the cute shop in the wee cottage. Definitely head to Moss Vale and check out the ever growing shopping strip of shops stocking all things handmade. Take some time to go to Dirty Janes in Bowral town and ponder all the etched glass. Have a bunch of share plates for lunch at Ludo and make sure you go for drinks at Bistro Officina (and snack on Taramasalata) before dinner.

Brunch at the Grand Bistro and if you are there longer there is always Bendooley's for great wine and charcuterie and the ever reliable Biota, for modern food and great cocktails.

The week and a bit that was

Ice-cream, Warhol, oysters, doggos, art, cocktails, coffee, blue sky, music, vermouth, figs, driving, farmers markets, antiques, cafes (Cornersmith!) friends, pickles, vows, family, friends who are family, pastries, cheese, kangaroos, cake and love.

Teenage Fanclub

You know you're old when your companion prompts you to put your empty booze bottle in the recycling on your way to the mosh pit.  But who cares - it was a magical Sydney evening, where an overcast day gave way to a beautiful sunset and everyone was 21 again (except the band who really do look like they are the wrong end of 50).

A wonderful venue, a great atmosphere, the best company and then the music. Gorgeous jingly jangly pop. Teenage Fanclub was worth the wait.

100 Days in China - Day 623

Social & Co is our home away from home in Guangzhou city. A place of good cocktails, great music, fresh food, friendly faces and fun times. We are lucky to have it.

Day 623 in China coincides with their 3rd birthday and my favourite cocktail ' The First Wife' inspired this little painting. Happy Birthday!

Sunday Night Sounds

Had a relaxing weekend filled with cups of tea, some painting, a fun party, jazz at a pop up speakeasy and a magical Sunday finishing off Robert Forster's wonderful book about the Go Betweens.

Currently reacquainting myself with the album The Friends Of Rachel Worth, while cooking up a pot of lentils and drinking red wine. Hard to believe I'm in G to the Z, isn't it?
